This class is fun and powerful. The power class combines yoga and breathe with strength elements in a heated room. You will move quickly to upbeat music for a great cardiovascular workout. You are sure to stretch, strengthen, compress, and tone every single part of your body. You will sweat buckets so bring a towel! All levels are welcome, please make sure to take it easy your first several classes as you get used to the heat.
*Stop, Drop, Flow Class ia the same as power, but with super fun music that is explicit! Think Beyonce, R+B, Cardi B Vibes*
The focus in this class is on flowing from pose to pose and linking your movement with your breath. In most Vinyasa classes you will start with a centering and warm up and than flow through various sequencing. Vinyasa classes will typically finish with a meditation in Savasana, so it is great for calming the mind. This class is a great challenge for any level practitioner.
Vin Yin is a marriage of the strong Vinyasa Yoga with the receptive Yin Yoga. We start and end the class with yin, offering passive asanas that are held to help switch off fight-or-flight mode, promoting balance throughout the nervous system and allowing for a sense of peace and relaxation. Active, yet grounding sun salutations and standing flows are offered in the middle of class to build heat.
Yin yoga is a quiet contemplative practice. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body. This is contrast to a vinyasa yoga which targets just the superficial muscles. Use your breath and join us in this deep restorative practice!
This class is a deliberate and slow paced Vinyasa flow with a twist. It’s Mindful and dynamic and sometimes incorporates mini pranayamas and mediations along with the asanas. It can be ideal for yogis just starting off or for those who want to hone in on their practice and postures. Remember slow doesn’t necessarily mean easy.
A fun class that’s a mental and physical treat.
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic yoga practice based on vinyāsa which synchronizes breath with movement to develop strength, flexibility, concentration and to improve overall health. Students will be guided through the first half of the Ashtanga Primary Series. This class is not heated, there is no music, and the teacher counts in Sanskrit.
This is a 60-minute yoga-pilates/sculpt fusion class. It blends yoga poses with certain pilates and barre movements. Pairing yoga with other disciplines lets you burn more calories than yoga alone, while still getting the benefits of the practice. Long holds, fast paced, small microscopic movements. Lots of core + lots of booty! Get ready to sweat!
OPTIONAL: IF YOU HAVE HAND WEIGHTS YOU CAN BRING THEM! BYOW (BRING YOUR OWN WEIGHTS!)
Mysore style yoga gets its name from the city Mysore in South India where this style of yoga originated. It involves a lot of one on one time with a teacher to work on specific techniques of the postures practiced. Not only does this method of teaching allow the practitioner to learn the techniques required to learn more complex postures, it also allows the practice to complement each unique individual. Hands on adjustments are used to progress the postures, and memory of the sequence is involved so you can take your practice anywhere and become more independent in your yoga practice. Sessions will be held over a two hour time slot where you can arrive at anytime at least 45 minutes before the end of the time block, you will learn the sequence and specific breath-movement coordinations of each posture and the workings of the Mysore room. Hands on assists are offered but not required to accept if you do not want adjustments.
